Spreading our Project throughout our Community

One of the most integral parts of our research is to spread our findings as far and wide as the Sun's reach. Below are are various fairs, events, and opportunities we have had to share our project.

September 5, 2012: Pitch Day

On this day, we had the opportunity to share our project with Georgia Tech professors. We presented our research using PowerPoint, and specifically talked about the economical impact of our project on the world's market.

October 13, 2012: Istanbul Center Luncheon in Atlanta

The Istanbul Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students in their research endeavors. We were able to present our research at a luncheon, with attendees that consisted of professors, students, and researchers from Turkey.

• December 5, 2012: School Science Fair

The Rockdale School Science Fair allowed us to present our project, using a research backboard, to students and faculty in our school. This was a great opportunity to talk about our project in our school.



​• February 2, 2013: Regional Science Fair

​The Rockdale Regional Science Fair also allowed us to present our project, but to a larger audience. We were able to talk to parents, county officials, and even representatives from solar cell companies. We were able to come in 1st place at the fair, and also be selected as Grand Champion, allowing us to advance to the State Science Fair.

​• February 8, 2013: Research Showcase

​The Research Showcase was held at the Rockdale Magnet School, and enabled us to talk about our research project to the local students and parents.


 

• February 19, 2013: Congressional Resolution
This year, we were able to attend the Congressional Resolution at the State capital, as a part of the Georgia General Assembly. Hear we were able to share our project efforts with over 180 Georgia representatives, in addition to others in attendance. We are extremely grateful to be able to attend the hearing, and are thankful for our proclamation. The picture of this event is on the right.



• March 2, 2013: Georgia Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
​The Georgia Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (GJSHS), is held annually at the University of Georgia. There we can present our project to professors from the University using Microsoft PowerPoint. We are ecstatic to be apart of this program!

• March 21-23, 2013: Georgia State Science Fair
The Georgia State Science Fair allows us to present our work to professors, parents, and students across Georgia. We are excited for this opportunity to share our findings at this prestigious event.

 

• November 15th, 2013: Capitol Hill STEM Diveristy Symposium:

As part of the winning project for Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge, we were able to present our research at Capitol Hill for a STEM Diversity Symposium. In front of a crowd with more than 300 Congressman, Senators, the Department of Energy, the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, we presented our efforts and talked about the potential benefits of solar cell technology as a conventional energy source. We were ecstatic about the opportunity to leave impression to our leaders detailing the importance of alternative energy.



• February 1, 2014: Rockdale Regional Science Fair
​The Rockdale Regional Science Fair is held annually at the Rockdale Magnet School. There we can present our project to judges and local companies. We were estatic to recieved the Grand Champion Award at the Science Fair and be one of the winning trips to attend ISEF in Los Agneles in May!

 

• March 26-29, 2014: Georgia State Science Fair
The Georgia State Science Fair allows us to present our work to professors, parents, and students across Georgia. We recieved 2nd Honors this year ath the Science Fair.

 

• May 11-16, 2014: ISEF International Science Fair
